This FAQ will help you learn how to use our blog.

1) First thing you must do to make a post or to “Add Item” is to login to the site. You do this by entering your username and password under the Login bar on the right hand side

2) Second, click the “Add New Item” link in the upper left hand side under the Navigation section

Then you will find the form to add an item. Fill out a title and type the copy you want.

There a few simple style formatting options and you use them by highlighting the text you want to format and then click on the icon of the desired effect.

Option from left to right:

bold, italic, hyperlink, align left, align right, center align, wrap text around image left, wrap text around image right, and insert picture.

 

 

To link to another page, type something, highlight it, click the and type the web address you want to link to.

 

To insert an image you must first make sure your image sized correctly. The image must be no larger than 450 pixels wide. To resize your image go to www.resizemypicture.com and follow the instructions. Insert an image into your item by clicking the button. You will get a popup window. Click the "Upload new file" button and find the file you want to upload. Once that is uploaded, the name of that file (plus a string of numbers) will apear in the window. Select either Inline or Popup then click on the filename of the photo. select the name. Inline means the image will appear right inside the blog and Popup means that a popup window will lauch with the image in it.

A popup will ask you to enter text to display. This text will only be seen when you mouse over the image and is pretty much unimportant. If you would like to add text in your post you can do so on the next step after the code for the image has populated the "Create new item" window.

All you have to do now is click the "Add Item" button. Done.

You can also link an image directly from another site (hotlinking) instead of uploading the file to our server which will help our site to load faster but the downfall is that you will not know how long that image will exist on that site. You do this by right clicking (PC) or control-clicking (MAC) on the image. Browsers are different so choose either "copy image location," or select "Properties" and then copy the URL. In the "Create new item" window use this code: <img src="http://whatevertheURLofthepictureis">. Basically, copy this:
<img src=""> and then paste it into the "Create new item" form and then paste the URL between the quotes.

There are numerous FREE image hosting sites that you can upload images to.
